1. focus (e.g. photographic); focal point​

Japanese Definition:

１ レンズや球面鏡で、光軸に平行な入射光線が集中する一点。または入射光線が発散する場合、発散の原点と考えられる点。太陽の光を凸レンズで集めると、この点に置いた黒い紙が焦げるところからいう。

２ 楕円・双曲線・放物線を、定点と定直線からの比が一定である点の軌跡として位置づけるときの、定点。

３ 人々の注意や関心の集まるところ。また、物事のいちばん重要な点。「話の焦点を絞る」
